Ладожский вокзал — один из новейших, крупнейших и самых современных пассажирских вокзалов России. Он открылся в 2003 году к 300-летию основания города. Он обслуживает маршруты на север и восток, ранее обслуживаемые Московским вокзалом и Финляндским вокзалом. Из вокзалов Санкт-Петербурга эта станция является единственной "не конечной" станцией, через которую проходят поезда.
