Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Solo or in company”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:

● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
● mention the advantages (1–2) of shopping alone and in company;
● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of shopping alone and in company;
● express your opinion on the subject of the project – whether you would prefer to shop alone or with a group of people and why.

You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hey there! So, I found these two photos for our project "Solo or in company" and I think they really capture the essence of the topic. The first photo shows a girl shopping alone in a grocery store, specifically in the fruit department picking out oranges. The second photo depicts a family shopping together at a grocery store, with a husband, wife and daughter standing in front of the dairy department being advised by a store employee.

I chose these photos because they clearly showcase the difference between shopping alone and in company. The first photo illustrates independence and self-reliance while the second one highlights the aspect of togetherness and the importance of familial support while shopping.

One advantage of shopping alone is the freedom to make decisions without having to consider others' preferences. It allows for a quicker shopping experience as there are no discussions or debates involved. On the other hand, a disadvantage of shopping alone could be the lack of companionship and someone to bounce ideas off of.

When shopping in a group, like the family in the second photo, there is the benefit of shared responsibilities and the opportunity to bond over the experience. However, a downside could be disagreements on what to buy or differing opinions on what is essential.

Personally, I think I would prefer to shop alone most of the time. I enjoy the independence and the ability to shop at my own pace without feeling rushed or pressured by anyone else. However, I do see the value in shopping with a group of people, especially when it comes to getting diverse input and sharing the experience with loved ones.

Overall, both solo shopping and shopping in company have their own merits and drawbacks, but ultimately it depends on the individual's preference and the situation at hand. What do you think? Let's discuss more when we meet up! Talk to you soon!
