Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Jobs”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:

● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
● mention the advantages (1–2) of the two jobs;
● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two jobs;
● express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of the jobs presented in the pictures you’d prefer and why.

You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hey there! So, I know we were planning to send over the photos for our school project on "Jobs", but unfortunately, I'm having some technical difficulties right now. Let me quickly describe the photos I've chosen for the project and share some thoughts with you.

The first photo I chose shows a girl standing at the reception desk at a hotel, dressed in a white blouse. She is handing over a card to a man in a jacket. The second photo depicts a chef in a hat preparing a dish in the kitchen of a restaurant, completely focused on his work.

I thought these photos could represent two very different job roles in the service industry — one more customer-facing and administrative in nature and the other more hands-on and skill-based.

In terms of advantages, working at a hotel reception allows for interaction with a variety of people, which can be really interesting and rewarding. On the other hand, being a chef can be creatively fulfilling as you get to create delicious dishes and see the immediate impact of your work on customers.

However, both jobs come with their own set of challenges. Working at a hotel reception can be stressful at times, especially during peak hours when there are a lot of guests to attend to. Being a chef can also be physically demanding with long hours in a hot kitchen environment.

If I had to choose between the two jobs, I think I'd lean more towards being a chef. I love the idea of being able to create something with my hands and see the satisfaction it brings to others. Plus, the fast-paced, dynamic nature of working in a kitchen really appeals to me.
