    • Пояснение:
    I said that I WOULD GO if I HAD time.
    Я сказал, что пойду, если будет время.

    В данном предложении используется косвенная речь (reported speech), то есть передаются чьи-то слова без точного их цитирования (в отличие от прямой речи — direct speech).

    Если сказуемое главного предложения стоит в прошедшем времени (в нашем примере это сказуемое said), то в придаточном предложении необходимо изменить время глагола:

    Прямая речь (Direct speech)Косвенная речь (Reported speech)
    Present Simple → Past Simple
    "I go to the garage."He said that he went to the garage.
    Present Continuous → Past Continuous
    "I am doing exercises."He said that he was doing exercises.
    Present Perfect → Past Perfect
    "I have built a fence."He said that he had built a fence.
    Past Simple → Past Simple or Past Perfect
    "I made a mistake."He said that he made/had made a mistake.
    Past Continuous → Past Continuous or Past Perfect Continuous
    "I was playing the violin."He said that he was playing/had been playing the violin.
    Future Simple → Future in the Past
    "I will buy coffee."He said that he would buy coffee.
