Пояснение:
I TOLD her that I DID NOT HAVE time to play the piano.
Я сказал ей, что у меня нет времени играть на пианино.
В данном предложении используется косвенная речь (reported speech), то есть передаются чьи-то слова без точного их цитирования (в отличие от прямой речи — direct speech).
Если сказуемое главного предложения стоит в прошедшем времени (в нашем примере это сказуемое
told), то в придаточном предложении необходимо изменить время глагола:
