Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “The best New Year holiday”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
● mention the advantages (1–2) of the two ways of spending the New Year holiday;
● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two ways of spending the New Year holiday;
● express your opinion on the subject of the project – which way of spending the New Year holiday you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hi! I’ve chosen two photos for our project “The Best New Year Holiday” and I’ll quickly explain why.
The first photo shows a girl outdoors, standing in front of a snow-covered Christmas tree decorated with toys. She’s dressed warmly in a hat, gloves and a scarf, which really creates the feeling of a traditional winter holiday. The second photo is very different: a man and a woman are sitting on a sunny beach wearing festive New Year hats. Behind them there’s a small Christmas tree and some beautifully wrapped presents, which makes the atmosphere unusual and exotic.
I think the winter holiday has some clear advantages: you can enjoy snow, go skiing or skating and it feels cozy and magical. On the other hand, celebrating the New Year on the beach also has benefits: you can relax, enjoy the sun and do something special that is very different from everyday life. Still, there are some disadvantages too. A winter holiday can sometimes be too cold and a beach holiday may feel strange because it doesn’t really match the traditional New Year spirit.
As for me, I’d prefer the winter holiday with snow and decorations, because for me New Year is always connected with winter magic, family comfort, and a festive atmosphere. I think these two photos show the contrast really well and will make our project more interesting.
