Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “School subjects”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
● mention the advantages (1–2) of the two school subjects;
● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two school subjects;
● express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of these school subjects you preferred as a school student and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you about the photos I chose for our project “School subjects.” The first photo shows a boy in a classroom wearing a white lab coat. He’s holding a test tube with some bright blue liquid, and on the table there are more flasks with liquids. The second photo is very different: it shows a girl standing in front of a big geographical map. She has a red folder in her hand, a backpack on her back, and she’s pointing to the map with a pointer.
I thought these pictures would be good for our project because they clearly show two different school subjects — chemistry and geography. Chemistry is interesting because you can do experiments and see how things really work in practice. Geography is useful because it helps you understand our world better, like countries, climates, and nature.
Of course, both subjects also have their difficulties. Chemistry can be hard because there are so many formulas and safety rules. Geography sometimes requires a lot of memorizing, like names of countries, capitals, and rivers.
Personally, I prefer geography. It feels more connected to real life, and I like maps and learning about different places. So I think these two photos illustrate our topic very well, and we can use them to show both the strong points and the challenges of these subjects.
