Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Volunteering”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
● explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
● mention the advantages (1–2) of the two types of volunteering;
● mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of volunteering;
● express your opinion on the subject of the project – which type of volunteering presented in the pictures you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Hey, it's me! I wanted to share some thoughts about the photos I've found for our volunteering project.
The first photo shows four volunteers on the shore of a lake, wearing rubber gloves and collecting garbage. One of them is holding a plastic cup and putting it into a garbage bag. This image really highlights the importance of environmental volunteering and keeping our natural spaces clean. On the other hand, the second photo features a woman gently stroking a dog in a shelter for homeless animals, with a bucket of drinking water nearby. This captures the essence of animal welfare volunteering, showcasing compassion and care for those in need.
Both types of volunteering have their advantages. For environmental volunteering, one major benefit is that it helps preserve our planet and promotes sustainability. By cleaning up natural areas, we contribute to a healthier ecosystem. As for animal shelter volunteering, it provides direct support to vulnerable animals, helping them find homes and improving their quality of life.
However, there are also some disadvantages to consider. Environmental volunteering can sometimes be physically demanding and may require specific knowledge about waste management or environmental issues. In contrast, volunteering at an animal shelter can be emotionally challenging, as it often involves dealing with neglected or abused animals, which can be tough to handle.
Personally, I think I would prefer volunteering at an animal shelter. I have a strong passion for animals, and being able to interact with them and help them find loving homes would be incredibly rewarding for me. Plus, I believe that providing care and companionship to these animals can make a significant difference in their lives.
Overall, both types of volunteering are valuable, but my heart leans more towards supporting animals in need. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this!
