Today I am excited to talk about Russian public holidays. In Russia there are several public holidays that are widely celebrated throughout the country. Some of the most important ones include New Year's Day, International Women's Day, Victory Day, Russia Day and of course, the most iconic one, Maslenitsa.

My favourite public holiday is Maslenitsa, also known as Pancake Week. I am particularly fond of this holiday because it marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It is a time when families and communities come together to enjoy delicious pancakes and participate in various festivities.

In my city Maslenitsa is celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are outdoor events with live music, traditional Russian dances and plenty of food stalls selling an array of delicious pancakes. People also partake in traditional activities such as the burning of the Maslenitsa doll to bid farewell to winter.

Personally, I absolutely love holidays as they provide an opportunity to unwind, spend time with loved ones and immerse myself in the rich cultural traditions of my country. In conclusion, Holidays like Maslenitsa remind me of the importance cherishing our traditions.
