Comment on the following statement.

Internet is the greatest time-waster.

What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement?

Write 200–250 words.

Use the following plan:
− make an introduction (state the problem)
− express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons for your opinion
− express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons for this opposing opinion
− explain why you do not agree with the opposing opinion
− make a conclusion restating your position

Пояснение:
Today we spend a lot of time surfing the net. Some people watch movies and play computer games there while others have work meetings and assign million dollar contracts. So is it true that people using the Internet just waste their time?

In my opinion, it is a wrong assumption that you just procrastinate surfing the net. There are professions like coders or marketers who use the Internet for work purposes. Also, there are many distant learning courses on the World Wide Web. You can even get a diploma studying in front of the computer. Therefore, we cannot say that the Internet is used for entertaining purposes only.

Some people, however, believe that the web is just a timewaster as children just procrastinate and play computer games all day long. They also say that it is bad that many people use social networks as they lose their social skills and spend more time in front of electronic devices.

I cannot agree with the above opinion as these people fail to understand that you can use the Internet both in a productive and harmful way. It is just a matter of choice. There are a lot of examples when people benefit from using the World Wide Web.

In conclusion, I do not think that the Internet is just a timewaster. Most people use it productively.
